What *is* Willis talkin about and the alphabet challenge

Horribly late as always I gave into the temptation and started on the Alphabet Challenge hosted by Willow Zander which has allready reached K as I'm posting my A look... I'll do my best to catch up though.

It's going to be quite mish-mash of styles I think, beginning with evil gyaru here... I call it evil because the lovely Grace skin from Atomic coupled with Hair Shop Nodoka's Coco is giving me the glare. Dark brown eyes from Aphotic Gloom might not be helping actually.

The pawnshop princess has company

Starting out in Second Life in 2006 my first avatar Coco looked like a nightmare before a forum-friend took pity on me and steered me in the right direction. I stumbled frequently on the way, and still do occasionally, but I enjoyed that too. Back then I didn't read blogs so I don't know if there were any around but hopefully todays beginners take a moment to look around and see what's available before plunging into the inferno of shops around the grid.

Blogger Gogo of Juicybomb proposed a newbie-challenge where the budget for creating a completely new look/new avatar was 550L and for many of us who frequent the weekly or bi-weekly sales that seems like a lot but if you just hop into a random shop you've no doubt discovered that it's not. For myself I set the limit to not use items from these discount events and only use freebies, group-gifts and store-sales when creating Cooper's friend. Or Cooper's dark side maybe. I also tried to think of it as a starter package rather than a cheap outfit.


I splurged on a no makeup skin from Dutch Touch since the sale they are having made it very affordable at 350L, still eating most of my budget but ensuring that there is a good base to build on. Once I had it all put together I had some fun working my computer around two viewers so get myself a memorable picture of my two current alter-egos. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure everything Cooper is wearing was bought on sales as well so it's not exactly a budget vs luxuary shot!

With quite the gusto temperatures are dropping and the pawnshop princess is crawling out of the storage-rooms she's been hiding all summer. Quite a lot is happening, in Second Life just as in real life and there will be updates coming sooner rather than later so for now I will simply show my slow inching towards the horror that will be Cooper on Halloween.

Eurovision Song Contest

Hey, look at that. Two days in a row.

Last night was the evening for glamour on tv, Eurovision Song Contest and I felt inspired enough to do my own look for it. A hearty congratulations for the winners Azerbaijan and a good played for Estonia and Serbia who had the cutest stage outfits in my mind.

Glitter and glamour of the sexy kind is rampant in this competition and it was quite fun to go through my folders to find the right outfit, a bit of leg-shock but who cares. I wish my inventory would have included a microphone and stage-poses but perhaps for next year.

The pawnshop princess is pink

The constant releases of new, incredible, crave-inducing items in Second Life can be quite an anxiety I've found, shopping so much that I don't even have the will to blog anything. For four weeks I've had topics to post almost every day but I just don't seem to get around to it. The solution I've decided is that I'm going to stop shopping. I'm going cold turkey and while it's especially tempting to release the lindens at the weekend I'm going to restrain myself.

I'm also going to try to at least post a Look of the Day thrice a week and something more substantial once a week, perhaps a designer high-light or a location based post.

But now, onto the pink!

While I've had outfits ready for perhaps five of the past seven colour challenges this is the first one I've gotten ready, perhaps due to my no-shopping resolution, and I'm quite happy with the whole mood of this set. The skin from Pink Fuel is one of my latest purchases and hopefully one of my last for a good while!

Oh right, I have a blog.

Hello again, how many months has it been now? Well, I might as well just throw myself back into it. Fear not, major shopping has been performed on a weekly basis throughout my absence so there should be no shortage of things to show even after a winter that made me just want to snuggle up in the comfiest of sweaters and most warm tights I could find. Now sun has peeked out in real life and while summer isn't quite here yet I had the urge to preview it at least, that's the beauty of Second Life after all.

Pulling out an ensemble of things that had just been sitting in my inventory while I felt all chilled I went shopping, what else, and stumbled upon C'est Moi! creator Marcantonio Beaumont at his shop in Florencia. It was, I think, my second or third time meeting a creator and talking to them and I came away with a very good impression. Marcantonio was even nice enough to gift me with one of his Vintage necklaces, I definitely feel that it made the whole outfit.

Now though it's time for me to do some land hunting, anyone know a good place for a skybox home?
